Boston lodging

Thanks to a poster here I found a nice inn in Brookline for $75 shared bath or $100 with private bath. It is the Longwood Inn, very nice and quiet and 2 blocks from the "T" stop green line. www.longwoodinn.boston.swbd.net

Linda, I'm looking for lodging either in Boston or in Brookline... have you just made the reservation, or you're back from your trip?

I did Priceline for my last Boston hotel. Loved it. Ended up at the Hyatt Downtown for $64 a night (incl fees). There were a few remarks about the safety of the area, but I never felt unsafe and loved the location. Great for walking or riding the T.

LindaW-
I'm glad you had a good stay. My parents stayed at the Longwood Inn maybe 7-8yrs ago and they enjoyed it too. Brookline is a very nice neighborhood, plus just a short ride on the T to downtown/backbay.

FainaAgain, I am back as tracys2cents said. I had a great time in Boston and at the convention! Longwood Inn has air conditioners in each room so you can make it as cool as you want. I went to the "T" one morning and met Gov. Dukakis waiting for the train to go to a state's breakfast.
The people in Boston were great, friendly and very helpful. They deserve a lot of credit for a great time and the weather was even good.
I ate at Durgin Park (very good and a tradition according to my transit rider friend), The Naked Fish (Cuban style seafood and Mojito-Cuban drink recommended by the police near there as very good) and Atlantic Fish (good food but the waiter tried to add $10 to my bill until I called him on it). I had eated at Legal Seafood, NoName and Anthony's before--all very good. Not living on the ocean, I have to eat seafood.
