Boston lodging

Hi: Planning to head up to N.H. (Wht.Mts. area) this Aug. Thought about stopping in Boston for a night or two, but hotel$ are harsh. Does anyone have suggestions where a coupe with one child can stay for under $200. a night? Just wanted to tour some major sites with our eight y/o.

Your cheapest option would be the HI Hostel.
The other option would be to stay someplace south of the city and ride the T into the city.

The La Quinta Inn in Somerville (formerly Tage Inn) will shuttle you to the T stop, whether or not taking the T around will be convenient for the 3 of you will depend on what you decide to see and do in Boston.

What is your date? Prices vary greatly day to day. is a good resource for Boston. Though the hotels are not identified, you can usually figure it out from the photos and description or look at the site on a tablet and the hotels are named.

It sounds like you'll have a car and parking can run about $40 a day.

Look at the Hyatt in Medford which is near Wellington Station on the Orange Line. I think they have a shuttle to the station. It's North of Boston which is in the right direction for NH.

The Verb is a new budget hotel near Fenway Park which may be open when you come. Also check the John Jeffries Hotel.
