Okay, ignore my message on your other post, lol. If you want to check the replies to this thread, click on your screen name.

Dress in layers for the weather. Bring along gloves and a scarf - it is windy in Boston and it can be downright chilly in the evenings.

Good luck with the rest of your planning.

Definitely bring sweater/scarf - even though today was in the 50s, I could have used both, it was so windy!

Irish Bars - I imagine you want the real holes in the wall? Black Rose, Purple Shamrock, Durgin Park, Luckys are all good, but definite dives and somewhat touristy.

Transportation from the airport - either a cab, guessing about $15. Or you can take the silver line straight from outside the terminal to South Station. Hop on the Red Line to Park Street, change over to the Green Line to Copley/Hynes (whichever is closest to your hotel). $1.25 will get you there one-way.

Foliage - not much around yet. However, the trees along the esplanade are beginning to change and fall. From Back Bay, walk towards the Charles River, and many of the streets (Mass Ave, Fairfield, Dartmouth, Arlingon Streets) will lead you to a bridge over Storrow Drive to get to the Esplanade. Or, if you want to view the city from the other side of the Charles, you can walk down Mass Ave, over the Mass Ave bridge to Memorial Drive for a nice shot of Back Bay and the skyline.

Adult shows - please clarify. Comedy? Drag?

Good luck planning!

A taxi is going to cost you closer to $20-25. I've my trusty little map of Boston open in front of me and I'm not seeing a T stop that is very handy to Beacon St. "Drag" refers to shows featuring men dressed (rather outrageously) as women. Did you see the movie Birdcage or LaCage aux Folle (excuse the spelling on that one.) That's 'drag'.

Maybe this will help you out with your "Irish" questions:

No, the Irish bars aren't that bad at all.. I forgot to add one - Bell in Hand, always fun, but again, very young crowd there.
If you want a more "trendy" Irish bar, you can do Ned Devines or McFaddens.

Transportation - depends which end of Beacon you're on. Do you know the cross street?
