Boston in October
We will be in Boston for 2 days, Oct 9 and 10th. I'm having trouble finding a hotel that will accommodate our needs. We will be needing a shuttle to and from Logan. We would love something convenient to touristy things and charming. A large hotel chain would be fine, but we'd like to keep it around $200. Confused as to the best location to stay also. Thank you. Any suggestions?

Location: downtown, Copley, Back Bay.
Avoid hotel that are listed as Boston-area or have Boston in their name but are actually in another city - unless you absolutely must to save money. Cost: I would try Priceline if it is only 2 people. Don't limit yourself to hotels with airport shuttle. MBTA is an option and even a cab is not all that expensive from downtown area to airport. Do a search here on Boston hotels - it is one of the most popular topics here. |
Try the chandler hotel onGoogle. We stayed there in 2004 and walked to all the historic places. PAul

As gail pointed out, the price of a taxi is reasonable; that's one reason that most hotels don't bother to offer a shuttle. And it's tru that there have been several recent threads about economical Boston htels; IMHO, Priceline or one of the other discounters is your best bet.
You dates are a particular challenge because Columbus Day weekend (Oct. 7 - 9) is a very popular travel weekend for Boston due to foliage tours, college parents' and sports events, conference season etc. |
I posted a reply to your questions that you asked on my trip report thread.
