Boston in 3 days/Labor Day?

Am considering a trip to Boston this Labor Day weekend and would have a good 2 1/2 to 3 days there. Is this enough time to see many of the sights without going non-stop with 2 kids (16, 10)? Would the weather be pleasant then? I've been reading all of the posts and it sounds great.

Thanks.

Weather is always difficult to forecast in Boston. That time of year can be very nice --- but who knows, may have another of those nasty heat waves (family has been broiling up in New England this week). What may be more problematic is the deluge of students as they head back to college --- if memory serves me, I think that's the weekend that many schools begin their fall semester.
Hi...I've been to Boston several times. It's do-able though as stated in the last post, students do head back to this huge college city. One day could fit a good amount of stuff in, Faneuil Hall, the Old North Church, the Back Bay area, etc. You might think about a drive up the coast to Salem if you think your kids would like the Witches museum. Better yet, driving to Hyannis and spending a weekend on Nantucket would be really cool <tho''may be mobbed> F

It would be a fine time to go. If there are a "lot of returning students", you won't notice. You'd want to book accomodations well in advance. The weather is usually most pleasant, the hot and humid weather having subsided by then.
