Boston Hotels near Art Museum

Hi all
We are looking for a hotel in Boston within walking distance to the Museum of Fine Arts. Travelling with a 15 year old who would love a pool. Any ideas are helpful. Thank you.

I'm not sure whether there are any hotels close to the MFA, maybe some of the ones in the Medical area. Your best bet is the Colonnade, which has a pool, though it's over a mile from the museum.

The MFA is right on the Green line E of the T (subway). It's so convenient I don't see the reason to stay within walking distance to the MFA.

There are hardly any hotels neaby the MFA. A google map search reveals the HoJo @ Fenway Park to be the closest, followed by Midtown hotel on Huntington Ave.

If you want a pool, I'd suggest any of the business hotels in Copley Square- Westin, Marriott, Sheraton. I believe all of them have swimming pools. From Copley station, you can hop on the E train and be at MFA in just a few minutes.

midtown is a bit of a dump but it is the closest....the childrens inn at childrens hospital is close too...the courtyard on beacon street is not far...

splurge, the commonwealth hotel in kenmore square...

in copley square are the copley square hotel--basic old hotel, the westin, the marriott copley, the fairmont copley--grand old hotel of boston--c1912... YMCA is just up the road from the museum....

btw, make sure you visit the isabella stewert gardiner museum just in back of the MFA on the fenway...

howard johnsons next to fenway park is close too--can walk in 8-10 minutes, but old hotel...

colonade hotel--upscale

the sheraton boston is the closest big hotel...its at prudential and the 15 y.o. would love the location as its in a mall setting...i would check their specials first....one of my kids just stayed there and said it has been nicely redone...

he might also like the museum of science in cambridge...

another place to check is the john jeffries house which is not too near but prices are quite good and the T is right across the street...onwned by boston's largest hospital...

You can step out of the Collonade(sp?) and right down to an MTA stop-ride a coupla minutes and you're at the museums.

Sheraton and Hilton, both really near the Pru T stop on the E line, are often available on Priceline.

Colonnade's rooftop pool is seasonal I think
