Boston hotel near train
 

We are considering a visit to Boston the first week in April. Ideally, we would like to take a train from the airport to our hotel and be convenient to attractions. Any advice on a good hotel near a train station? Thanks.

Almost all of the hotels in Boston are convenient to one or more stations in the subway system.

There's an airport shuttle bus that picks you up at the terminal and drops you at the Airport station on the subway's Blue Line. One hotel that's convenient to many attractions and to the Goveernment Center stop on the Blue Line is the Omni Parker House. But you can transfer from the Blue Line to the Orange or Green line to access dozens of hotels in downtown and Back Bay.

If you're considering Cambridge...we stayed here and found it very convenient to everything...from the train we had to walk about 4 blocks, and even though it was snowy we didn't find it too difficult. We travel pretty light though.

OK, since most of the Boston hotels are convenient to the subway system, and we will be travelling without a car, can I get a recommendation on a decent hotel that is close to restaurants, shopping, tourist sites, etc.? From reading previous posts, it sounds like the Back Bay is a nice area. We would also like a reasonably priced hotel, or is that too much to ask?

No restaurant but you will be surrounded by them and the subway just across the street.

The Sheraton Boston is in Back Bay & close to shopping, restaurants and attractions.

Are you aware that Logan airport is just across the harbor from Boston, unlike many other cities. Maybe you could take a taxi to your hotel, see the sights and it would not be that expensive, but a lot more convenient.
