Boston Hotel Help - Found some good deals
 

I'll be staying in Boston one night, Feb. 15. Found some good deals - $99 for the Swissotel, $89 for the Park Plaza &amp; Towers, $119 for the Omni Parker, $134 for the Nine Zero. Does anyone have any feedback on any of these hotels?<BR><BR>I was thinking of even trying Priceline since these are so cheap. Could probably get a room cheaper (though not necesarrily in these hotels).

For the price, I would pick the Swissotel, which is in the downtown area. The location of the other 3 hotels is actually better, but the hotel rooms at the Park Plaza are a mixed bag. You can usually get the Park Plaza through Priceline for $55. The Nine Zero is a new boutique hotel, across the street from the Boston Common, and its only a few doors down from the Omni Parker House (famous for its Parker House Rolls and Boston Cream Pie). <BR><BR>But for size of the room, amenities and price, I would go with the Swissotel (its right next to Macy's and in Downtown Crossing). My second choice would be the Nine Zero, but at least stop in there for a drink. My third choice would be the Omni Parker House, and my last choice would be the Park Plaza. However, if price is a concern for you and you're looking for a bargain, and you get the Park Plaza for $55 through Priceline, you'll be happy, but warned.<BR><BR>By the way, Hotwire usually has good prices, and the favorite pic hotel is the Sheraton in Back Bay that usually goes for $65 per night. The Sheraton is a nice hotel, as is the Hilton in Back Bay, which usually goes for about the same price. Both hotels are also hotels in Priceline's inventory.

Nine Zero is new, slick, modern. Omni Parker is just around the corner, a historic/traditional hotel with compact rooms. Both are located within a short walk of Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market. The Park Plaza is the least nice of these properties, though magnificently located in Copley Square. The Swissotel would be my pick. Wonderful in every way and located between the rest of them, great for walking to destinations in either direction. We've stayed there for $70-90 with Priceline (all depending upon dates). <BR><BR>With Priceline, you just never know what hotel you'll get. If you don't care and would rather save a few more bucks, you can try Priceline. At those rates, though, I'd pay the extra for the specific selection.

The Swissotel is a great deal, however the neighborhood is not the best, even though it is very central. You'll be fine here, but don't expect a charming area, it's near the old Combat Zone.

You'd never know &quot;the Old Combat Zone&quot; had ever been there.

The Swissotel would be my pick as well. I was pleasantly surprised when I stayed there last year. The neighborhood, while not great, seems to be improving and is safe.
