boston hotel
We're going to Boston in April for wife's 40th. Would like to splurge and stay in a nice hotel. Will probably stay in Copley area. Does anyone have suggestions. I am also looking at reviews on trip advisor. Thanks.

My first choice would be the Westin with the Sheraton next possibly.

Just came across your message and don't know if you've already booked, but if you're looking to really splurge, the Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton (in that order) would be great. The locations are awesome, right across from Boston's public gardens and lots of restaurants and shops in the area. April is a beautiful time as the spring bulbs are all blooming and everything looks fresh.
Fairmont Copley Plaza is a great choice too. (probably a little less expensive) Very elegant and, again, a terrific location with lots to do and see in the general area. If those are no gos, the Boston Harbor Hotel is grand and has a great location right on the water with an easy walk to Quincy Market where shops and restaurants abound. This one, however, has less in the general area. You would, though, be a good walk or a very short cab ride away from the North End, Boston's little Italy - lots and lots of great dining there....., Good luck and enjoy! |
I really like the Lenox because it's got a more "Boston" feel to it. It's right near the Copley T, restaurants--a street up from Newbury. It's real jem. Also there is a cute irish pub which is great for grabbing an appetizer and drink for lunch.

I like the Westin in the Copley area. Great beds and linens. Easy access to everything including the Prudential mall (covered walkways in case of rain). Nice views of Charles river from high floors.
I also like Nine Zero, a boutique hotel with great beds, linens, bathroom, bar, restaurant.... |
Nine Zero is really nice. Although, about a 20minute walk to Copley, or a T ride. Jury's is more trendy, and I know rates have been very reasonable lately.
Lenox is always a hit, as is the Fairmont. If you really want to splurge, the original Ritz on Arlington is only a few blocks from Copley Square and truly luxury. |
we just stayed at the Fairmont Copley this past weekend on the "gold" level floor which was amazing - great breakfast in the am, and a HUGE hors d'oevre meal from 5-7, all included. soda, juice, coffee, tea and perrier all day free and an honor bar that is open all afternoon. the rooms were beautiful. we got it on priceline for $105 and upgraded for and additional $95 - totally worth it.

My boyfriend and i just returned from a wondeful weekend in Boston. I suggest The Elliot Hotel which is in the Back Bay are of town and is located on Commonwealth Avenue. A lovely small european fell hotel. We stayed in a lovely mini suite for 250.00 a night and well worth it. Very quiet and staffed by very friendly and professional personnel. Within walking distance of the Copley area and only steps away from Newbury Street. Be sure to have dinner or lunch in the North End for some fabulous Italian cuisine.
