Boston Christmas activities 12/3

We will be in Boston for the weekend on 12/3. We have done JFK Library, Aquarium, Freedom Trail, and Quincy Market sites before. What are some good things that might be happening in December that we should check out? What must-see recommendations do you have?

Well I'd recommend skating on the Frog Pond in Boston Common. You could then head over to Beacon Hill to do a little shopping and have dinner or hot chocolate.

You will be too early for the Boston Pops but the Boiston Ballet's Nutcracker will be at the Opera House. Its a beautiful production in a newly renovated theater. Highly recommended.

I always love tea at the Ritz - very old school Boston.

Shop at the original Filene's Basement for some bargains.

Enjoy your trip.

Boston Common will be all lit up for the holidays and I think Santa's reindeer are housed there until Christmas Eve when they have to go to work. All the stores downtown will have lovely Holiday windows so you might try Macy's and Filene's.

Filene's Basement is a local tradition over the holidays, you can get some great bargins. Sadly Filene's is closing so this may well be the last Christmas season for the store.
