I second Fire & Ice. Actually, I responded to your request once before and suggested this. The Boston location is at 31 St. James Street at the intersection with Berkeley Street. It's a Mongolian barbeque restaurant and has received excellent reviews. It's also a good place for a picky eater, as you get to select what you want in your stir fry. It's an all you can eat restaurant for $13.75, and has received high marks from the Phantom Gourmet ( www.phantomgourmet.com).

Also, the restaurant is across the street from FAO Schwarz, so it would be convenient in case you want to let your daughter also pick out a birthday present. FAO has a huge Barbie department.

Lastly, walk another 2 blocks to One Columbus Avenue to Finale for dessert. All this restaurant serves is scrumptious desserts. It's in the same building as the Park Plaza Hotel.

The other restaurants I would recommend are McCormick & Schmidt, which is also in the Park Plaza Hotel or Legal Seafood which is across the street. Both are fish restaurants.

My last suggestion is Maggiano's, Little Italy which is at 4 Columbus Avenue. This is a great restaurant, especially if you have 4 or more people in your party -- meals are served family style, and it's an all you can eat restaurant, however, you make selections from the menu.
