Boston Attractions
 

We are looking to get away to Boston for a couple of days. We have done the "standard" sightseeing in Boston (Quincy Mkt, North Church, Aquarium). Looking for some other options while we're there. Also, any recommendations on hotels would be great. We would like to be centrally located in the average to above average price range.

I don't know whether you'll have a car but one of my favorite things to do when I'm visiting family in Boston is take a run up to Marblehead, a great little seaside town just North.

It didn't work out with my schedule, but Boston Bike Tours http://www.bostonbiketours.com/frameset.htm looked attractive.

My best time in Boston was the Whale Watch cruise from the Aquarium.

Go to Charlestown and see the USS Consitution,Bunker Hill Monument, then to the Warren Tavern for lunch.

Go to Cambridge..visit the Fogg Art Museum at Harvard, take in a play at the American Repertory Theater, walk around Harvard Square, and have lunch at Sandrine's.

I imagine the price range qualifies as well above average, but I've always wanted to stay at the Elliot Hotel. Its supposed to be very romantic, and the location in the Back Bay is great.

Hi there, If you are willing to travel-in a rental car, you can visit Salem, MA , which is about 25-30 minutes north of Boston. It is an old little city with great character, you can visit all the old witch museums and such. They have great little bars and restaurants along the water as well. Swampscott and Marblehead are right next to it which are nice as well. Your best bet for hotels is to go on priceline or hotels.com and select hotels in the "back bay-copley, or boston commmon theater district" those hotels will keep you in the middle of everything and w/in walking distance or short cab fare of all the sites in town. I do that when I stay in the city for a night, you'll save around 50- 90 dollars, and they are mostlly all 3-5 star hotels. between like 120-230 on the discount sites. Good Luck!

I would second the Salem, Mass visit. It was fun. We had lunch at Red's and got stared at by all the locals. Neat lighthouse there, too.
