Boston Attractions
 

My wife and I are going to Boston for the weekend and whated to see which attractions we shouldn't miss. We're stying near the Freedom Trail, so we know all about that, but any other advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Boston has a wonderful aquarium. Also, a walk through the Boston commons and different park/gardens are beautiful, too.

Do not miss the Boston Duck tour (in an amphibious WWII vehicle). You'll see so much, and it's a ton of fun!

The Museum of Fine Arts is worth a visit as well.

Finally, an afternoon in Cambridge (Harvard) is an option.

If you like museums, the Gardner Museum is really unique, and the Science Museum is a lot of fun. If you go, try to get there early. There are a lot of interactive exhibits, so its more fun when it isn't too crowded.

Go to Quincy Market in the morning. There is a kiosk marked Bostix when you can get discount tickets to same day shows. If you haven't seen Blue Man Group, go. It's a hoot!

Dinner in the North End (assuming you like Italian). The smaller the restaurant, the better.

Mike's pastry. Again in the North End. There's always a crowd, even at 11 p.m.

Not sure of your interests so here's a wide variety of things to do...

Take a tour of Fenway Park if you have an interest in baseball. Find details at redsox.com.

The Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum is smaller than the MFA and is truly lovely. If your wife's name happens to be Isabella she can get in free.

Have dinner in the North End for really great Italian food. Hanover St. is the most touristy street, lots of restaurants there and over on Salem St. My favorite is Terramia on Salem.

Boyleston St. has lots of bars for hopping.

The JFK Library is very interesting.

Try shopping in the original Filene's Basement.

There's the Museum of Science for interesting exhibits, Imax movies, and the Hayden Planaterium.

Walk everywhere or use the T.

Definitely agree with dinner in the North end. Several nice restaurants. You could take a quick walk through China town during the day, too.
