Boston accommodations & seafood
Will travel to Boston in Aug for genealogy research
at the archives and NEHGS on Newberry St.Anyone know of an inexpensive hotel or B&B in the Back Bay area? Are there any restaurants or seafood take outs that have whole-bodied clams(no strips)? |
The Newbury Guest House would be perfect for you (it's right on Newbury Street). But, call right away - fills up quickly. In Boston, all clams are full-bellied (except at Ho Jo's) unless stated otherwise on the menu. Nearly all restaurants will pack your order to go. There are wonderful seafood restaurants all over Boston. You'd love the No Name (that's the name) on a pier on the waterfront.

Can't help with the hotel or b and b(the hotels in the city are all very expensive) but two restaurants that are not and have very good seafood are Union Oyster House(very historic) and No Name Restaurant (no frills).

I disagree with Laurie. There is good seafood at restaurants throughout the city, but the best and most dependable is Legal Seafoods (2 locations in the city itself).

Legal Seafood (a chain-in Copley Plaza, and near the
Hilton) has amazing whole bodied fried clams! Enjoy! |
