Never been to Boston before and in Novemeber we are headed to a football game at Boston College. We will be flying into Logan and looking for a hotel that would convenient for the game and to downtown to go out in the evening and of course convenient to the aiport as well. Moderate prices preferred. Anyone have any ideas?

A lot depends on what you mean by moderate...and whether you want to be closer to downtown or to BC. Anything close to town will be more expensive.

One suggestion is the Best Western Terrace Inn in Brighton. ( http://www.bostonbw.com ). It is off Comm ave and about a mile or so to BC. You can take a streetcar in town and the hotel can be reached from Logan by streetcar for $1.25. This would not require a car. This area is home to many BC and other students living in apartments.

Other locations in Brookline, though convenient, would be more expensive.

In my opinion, the reason you are not getting many responses is that questions about lodging in Boston have been answered many times here. Also, you are asking the inpossible - close to Logan, BC and downtown. Also, define moderate - most people coming to Boston experience "sticker shock" at price of hotels and parking.

Yes you will get sticker shock for Boston Hotels. Best thing to do is stay downtown, because there is not a lot to do around the stadium, and you will be a short ride to the airport.
How much can you spend on a Hotel? Downtown hotels usually start at 150 plus tax. Hotels.com and Priceline are necessary to stay under 100. The subway can bring you within walking distance of the game. It will be a good 30 minute subway ride.
