"borrowing" Seaworld tickets

My best friend wants to come to Sea world with me and my family and we all have season tickets. My best friend doesn't want to pay for a one day ticket can we just use one of my other friends season pass? or no?

welcome to Fodors. Interesting first post :?

Why not look on the Seaworld website . . . If it is anything like Disney, no, passes are NOT transferable

Is this a legal, practical, moral or logistical question?

The FAQ for Seaworld San Diego
http://commerce.4adventure.com/EStor.../SWC/FAQs.aspx
is pretty unambiguous:

Can anyone else use my Annual Pass?

No. All Annual Passes are non-transferable and may not be used by anyone other than the person whose name appears on the pass. SeaWorld reserves the right to confiscate any misused Annual Pass. Additional fees may apply.

I seriously doubt Seaworld Orlando would be different.

Basically, your friend is asking for you to take 100% of the risk (ie, having your annual pass confiscated for illegal use) in order for him to get 100% of the benefit. A better idea would be to buy one-day tickets at a discount (one perk of the pass), and then split the cost in a fair way.

Better yet, go to a park that doesn't mistreat its animals.

Why would anyone who actually HAS a season pass have to ask this question?

nytraveler Dec 10th, 2014 04:07 AM

To any question that includes the word "borrowing" the answer is no (and do be sure to check the consequences).

It's true that the risk would be upon the season pass holder, and it seems like an inconsiderate ask by your friend. We have season ski passes, and would never jeopardize them by letting anyone try to sneak on using one.

<can we just use one of my other friends season pass? or no?>
Sea World would say no, which means you'd be breaking the rules. Best case, it works; middling case, your friend gets turned away, creating a bit of a logistical nightmare for your party; worst case, the pass gets confiscated. Only you can decide if you want to risk it.

Btw, I know what I know because I live in Florida, where lots of residents have annual passes to theme parks, and get asked to "borrow" them all the time. They know to say no.

gmoney Dec 11th, 2014 05:06 AM

I know at Universal and Disney, if you have an annual pass you have to have your fingerprint scanned when you use it the first time and then scanned again every other time you use it. I'm pretty sure Sea World does the same thing. So the short answer is no, you cannot use someone else's annual pass!

BigRuss Dec 12th, 2014 01:15 PM

Six Flags has a fingerprint scan too. Did Sea World? If so, doesn't the initial question answer itself?
