BORGATA ATLANTIC CITY
ANYONE BEEN TO THIS NEW HOTEL YET? GOING THIS WEEK, CAN'T WAIT!!!
|
We got an invitation to stay there anytime this year, is that the way you are going? I called and got the rates and info, it had not opened officially at that time. I did see a piece on the news about it, looks beautiful and it will be so nice and new! Have a good time ... Good Luck! and do tell all about it when you get back! S~ |
NO. DID NOT RECEIVE AN INVITE. BEEN WATCHING THE PROGRESS SINCE A STAY IN AC LAST SUMMER. CALLED AS SOON AS THE RESERVATION LINE OPENED AND BOOKED FOR THIS WEEK. WILL LET YOU KNOW HOW IT GOES.

We stayed there on July 3, opening day, for just one night. It is a beautiful property. The rooms are somewhat small but lovely; very stylish with a very nice bathroom including a shower for two. I loved the decor throughout the hotel. They have an area for guests only called "The Living Room" and I spent some time there having a coffee and watching all the crazy people there for the grand opening. It was packed.
The bed is unbelievable. 300-count sheets, great pillows, and a pillow-top mattress. I melted into the bed. They have several nice restaurants, but we did not try any of the fancier places (couldn't get my husband away from the poker table). We opted for a late lunch at their cafe called The Metropolitian. Had breakfast there too and it was great. Wonderful pastries. The down side would be that it was painfully cold in the casino and they were very unorganized, but that was to be expected I suppose. There were long lines for everything. I don't think they had enough staff trained for the amount of people. It was nice getaway for the holiday weekend but next time I think we'll go back to Harrah's due to the price. Glad we got to participate though in the madness of a grand opening. Have fun! |
Just returned and I agree- rooms were smaller than Ballys, place was very crowded, not yet fully staffed. Great bathrooms, restaurants overpriced, lovely hotel and room decor, but all in all, not worth the high cost of the room. Also ate in the Metropolitan for breakfast and dinner. They need more moderate meal options than just that and the buffet. Also, having everything on one level and no boardwalk creates severe congestion at all hours. Glad to have gone, but won't go again unless comped for the room.

Thank you!!!
We got an invitation to stay one night free anytime before Christmas this year. Since we never go to AC, we had no idea what it was like. We will most likely book a weekend in the fall..they should have all the kinks ironed out by then. Thank you gottago & RPB ((F)) |
Borgata is a beautiful hotel, great design truly envokes a Resort/Vegas feel. We stayed in a Fiore Suite (contemporary decor with more of a penthouse feel than hotelish - 700sq ft.)worth the $250 rate. Private lobby lounge for overnight guests with security gives a feeling of autonomy. Also appreciate the comp. bottle of water.
Enjoyed lunch at NOW (Asian Noodle cusine) Dinner at Mixx : great sushi and unique dining experience (little plates somewhat like a tasting menu then during dinner the restaurant lighting changes and the percusion combo transforming into a dance club. I look foward to going back and trying another one of the 11 restaurants: Specchio - Northern Italian fine dining Ombra - has a wine tasting room downstairs - great for a private small group event! The Spa is outstanding. Great treatments/services. Complaints: At the casino, the Roulette digital display of winning numbers were not operating. The hotel claims to not cater to Day Bus trips - so why so many slot machines? Even though I did win $200 on slots the casino needs more roulette and craps tables. Good Luck and Enjoy! |
I was there 2 weeks ago. I only saw a show. We stay at Trumps Marina. The theater was very nice. Ample seating, but short on the leg room. It is a pretty place. Have fun, and good luck.

Scarlett, How did you get the offer to stay there? Do you frequent Vegas?
|
Why so many slot machines?
To pay the bills, dear. For the casinos slot machines are the biggest money makers (per square foot) of any of the gambling devices/games. |
I'm trying to find the Borgata's website and can't -- can anyone post it here?
|
We stay at the Bellagio in Las Vegas and belong to the Players Club so I guess that is the connection. We are booked to go for a free night in Dec, celebrating a birthday. Not mine, mine are spent in other countries, while Atlantic City may feel like another country-it is not far away enough for me :) *flopmeister* www.theborgata.com |
The Borgata is joint venture owned between MGM Mirage (hence your offer to stay there generated from playing/staying at the Bellagio) and the Boyd group.
Flop, here is the website www.theborgata.com/ |
thanks! i'll be in nyc in october, so maybe i'll check it out.
