Hotel/Restaurant suggestions for the area?

It's either called Brown's Wharf, Brown's Fisherman's Wharf, or perhaps just Fisherman's Wharf. Right at the harborfront, most rooms have a balcony overlooking all the harbor activity. Just a block from the commercialism if you get tired of the harbor scene. Enjoy. Marie

Well the other person sounded like hohum. But I really loved Boothbay Harbor!!! We stayed at the Rocktide Inn. It was nothing fancy...they have a deck where you can watch the action. Our room hung over the water,and in the distance you could see the harbor lighthouse. The footbridge is just about 100 yards away from the parking lot. We were there for three days and never got in out car once. The footbridge takes you to the habor shopping , eating and boat tours. There is also a trolley that takes you to a couple of places and it is free with the Rocktide Inn. We took the harbor cruise. It was about three hours long. We saw an Eagles nest, Navy ships, lighthouse, lobster traps all over the place, And when the captin got us out to open water, we even saw dolphins swimming close by the boat. It is a neat harbor. Down the way is a live working lobster pound. You can watch the lobstermen come in with their catch. You can eat there, not the fanciest place, but it's a lobster pound where you can get a lobster dinner order to eat there or to go cheap. Remember the lobster pounds are going to be the best prices. In Bar Harbor try Trenton lobster pound. Best ever...it's all in how they are cooked. I hoped this helped. Next time we go I would like to stay at the Tugboat Inn. Cute little place too. We go to Boothbay Harbor every year and we love it. We stay with relatives so I can't speak to the hotels in the area but for restaurants.... <BR> <BR>Gray's Wharf - lunch or dinner, try the lobster roll <BR> <BR>McSeagulls - lunch or dinner, good chowder and you can just walk across to the Ice Cream factory for dessert. <BR> <BR>Fisherman's - lunch or dinner, maybe even breakfast <BR> <BR>Lobsterman's just outside of the harbor --lunch or dinner. Excellent Lazyman's Lobster and Prime Rib <BR> <BR>Boothbay is a wonderful place. Enjoy.

We went to Boothbay Harbor last year - great place - stayed at Ocean Point Inn - not in the town of Boothbay but actually East Boothbay - you are about 15 minutes from town - this was OK but I think I'd check into Ocean Gate Inn next time - for dining - we liked Rocktide Inn for dinner, as well as Lobsterman's Wharf (in E. Boothbay) - I also ate at Andrew's Harborside for lunch, had seafood chowder and haddock sandwich (overpriced) and Lobsterman's Co-op for lunch, steamed lobsters and corn on the cob and steamers (good deal) - we really didn't have a bad meal the whole time we were there, but some places I felt were more of tourist trap than others -

We LOVED the Lawnmeer Inn -- gorgeous location right on the water, with a nice restaurant overlooking the water too. Very reasonable prices, comfortable rooms and charming ambience.
