boca raton romantic dinners?
Just looking for a wonderful restaurant to take my husband for his 50th in March. We're staying in Boca, but will have a car to travel. Any ideas? We enjoy great food and wine, atmosphere (comfortable, not stuffy, squished or loud) and very friendly service! Any thoughts?? Thanks!

I think you need to indicate budget and how far realistically you'd be willing to drive. The nicer places I've been to in Boca tend either to be stuffy (the Addison) or not terribly romantic (Max's Grill). I like the Italian restaurant at Mizner Park (I think it's called Pranzo) sitting outside on a nice night, but I don't think it's worthy of a special b'day. I haven't been to any of the new restaurants at the Boca Resort but they've not been great in the past.
Truluk is a hot seafood restaurant and Key Grille is another. Neither very romantic. Cafe Boulud in Palm Beach is an idea if you don't mind traveling. |
I've had dinner with my wife at McCormick and Schmicks in Boca. It is very romantic and excellent food.

I prefer 30-45 min drive tops. thanks!

Monterey Bob beat me to recommending McCormick and Schmick; good service, quiet so you can talk to each other, and excellent seafood.
Seasons 51 is also good, but not the quiet atmosphere. |
If you're staying at the Boca resort, I would suggest Cielo. If not, then I would definitely recommend Cafe Bouloud in Palm beach (within your driving range). As McLaurie pointed out, there aren't that many "romantic" restaurants in Boca. BUT there are some great ones. We had several amazing meals at Trulucks (I wouldn't recommend anywhere else in Mizner Park). Chops Lobster Bar actually has a more refined atmosphere (and a great steak) than you would think by its name.
