boca/delray area for restaurants

We will be coming to the area on feb vacation. Two families with four kids 6 - 13. We are looking for fun places to eat maybe with entertainment and good food. We do not want a chain ie. cheesecake factory. The kids eat anything and the grown-ups are foodies. Any suggestions would be great. Price is not really an issue.

I can't imagine what sort of entertainment you're talking about. Dinner theater?? piano bar?? With a 6 year old?? I'm lost.

Forgetting about the entertainment part, in Delray, Splendid Blended on Atlantic Ave is very good food & a funky atmosphere. Also in Delray, I've heard the Pineapple Grill (Caribbean food) is very good but haven't tried it yet.

In Boca, Bruzzi's, recommended to me on this board, is a big, raucous, popular place (lots of families) with good American.

In Deerfield Beach, try the Whale's Rib for very good seafood (the mixed seafood platter)in a casual atmosphere.

kgn, we fairly recently went through quite an extensive list of good restaurants in the Palm Beach/Boca/Jupiter area.

You could probably do a search for the best results.

I just can't remember all of them but I'll try.

Sailfish on Singer Island
Taboo in Palm Beach
Toojays
Houston's (the unchain chain restaurant)
Redfire Grill

I know I'm leaving a few good ones out so I'll try and remember.

Mclaurie: Yes I was thinking of a dinner theater, or some other entertainmenet ie. sushi restaurants with boats that bring the food, some brizilian rest. have some interesting things as well, in CA we went to a dinner theater called tetrazeni which was circus like entertainment while we ate (it was a blast and my kids loved it).

Other people have recommended Pineapple Grill as well.
Thanks
