Honestly, I did not like the way John Denver treated Annie. When she filed for divorce after she got tired of his philandering, he almost choked her to death. And then cut their bed in half with a chain saw. She got herself and their adopted kids got away from him none too soon.

At least we wrote a song about her, even if omitted the choking part.
