Boardwalk or Barbary Coats LV?

How are these two hotel and casinos? Really good prices but don't want to end up in dives. Whats your opinions on these two. Thanks.

Get ready to get wet. Spend a little more such as at the Flamingo, which is cheaper than most and go to better hotels. These two hotels offer nothing.

of the 2...Barbary Coast..the Boardwalk is a dump...ck out cheapovegas.com----you can probably get the Flamingolasvegas.com for the same price..and it`s next door..across the street is Bally`s(on the sidestreet)..ck out the prices fro their sites by going to cheapovegas and get on the email lists for specials...love the gamble at BC and O`Sheas(part of the Flamingo)...

Rooms at the Barbary are very nice, excellent mid-strip location, no pool.

Lynn,

It seems like you keep posting this question, hoping our reviews will get better.

These two places are, for all intents and purposes, DIVES. So like MRT says, get ready to get wet.

If you want a little better for not much more money, try Flamingo or Ballys. If you want a lot better, book Monte Carlo, TI, Luxor.

-darvy

They're both dumps. Check out the Howard Johnson's North.

Try the Stratosphere. They have some good deals since they're so far down the strip they're almost downtown, but not quite. Check out the older hotels on the strip, too, like Imperial Palace or the Frontier.

I disagree with the characterization of Barbary Coast as a dump. It's definitely no frills, but I've stayed there before and didn't find it to be a dump.

I'm a fan of the Tropicana.

It's old, it's cheap, the decor is amazingly cheesy. It's got a good location, and it's cheap.

It's also got one of the best pool areas, and the only one with a 24 hour pool, and I believe, swim-up black jack.

You can often get room rates there around $49.

Lynn,
Barbary Coast is okay, and I would not hesitate to stay there if it saved me a few $$$. Very well located! The Boardwalk is located in a somewhat seedy part of the block with lots cheap food joints and questionable characters strolling around. Not sure about the amenities though.

Barbary Coast no frills but the rooms are nice and spacious and no pool but right on the strip...you are really not in your room alot so if you are looking for price wise go for it. try trip advisor or go to the website for pics of the room

You won't find it on many websites, since Barbary Coast was sold and is not "Bill's Gamblin' Hall". Hope the OP had a nice trip 8 years ago.
