boarding dogs in the seattle area
 

does anyone know a good place to leave your pet in the south seattle area.I usually take her with me but not in warmer places like kuaiu.She is a 3 year old golden and had only been left once before.I would feel funny about her being in the cargo area,of a plane and she can't pass as a service dog (lol) pulls to much.Thanks for any help

I can't help with specific place, but have you asker your vet or friends that own dogs? Have you considered a pet/house sitter so you dog doesn't have to go to kennel? Call different vet offices and ask too - often the techs in the offices will do pet sitting. They can either visit 2 times a day or stay at your house, or even may let you dog stay with them at their house.

I just googled baording dogs seattle and came up with lots of them.

Also, if you mean Kauai Hawaii -- you cannot easily take a dog there for vacation. Dogs [and cats] entering Hawaii will be quarantined 30 days.
SO unless, you are going to be there for a period in excess of 30 days, the financial cost -- as well as the psychological cost -- of taking dog with you is way too high in my opinion.

I have a 12 yr old Golden that is so well behaved, but would never put him through that just to take him with me on vacation. IMHO.

If you decide to have a sitter in to take care of your pup, rather than have her boarded, I have a fantastic person that we used frequently in W. Seattle. I'll send you her info off the board if you're interested.

For a 3-year-old golden, I'd be more than happy to dog-sit. :) I just got back from Houston where I got three days with my gf's family's two goldens, and now I'm in withdrawl...

As mentioned once above, you can't take animals on vacation to Hawaii even if you wanted to. It is not easy to take animals in and out of Hawaii from the mainland, even if you are permanently relocating there. There are strict rules. You can find them on the (I think it was the dept of agriculture?) website.

thanks so much for your replies,and especially to rivermyst137 for the super offer,but not going until earily dec.Goldens are easy to miss.I do many vactions in whistler,and lots of pet friendly places to stay and visit. barking bay on alta lake and canine cove on lost lake with a doggie ramp and dock away from shore .they even have a doggie daycare if you want to ski or bike for a few hours.many outside eatries your dog can hang out with you. thanks a again for your replies
