"Blue Hole" in Kauai...

I heard there is an enchanting place on Kauai, some kind of a pond that not many people know about. Apparently some hiking is involved. Can anybody give me directions?

You may be talking about the Queen's Bath in Kauai, near the Princeville resort. It fits your description . . . I went and it was very beautiful. Yes, some hiking is involved.

Thanks, Soccer. We'll be staying at the Cliffs in Princeville. Where exactly is the Queen's Bath?

I think they are two different things. Check out the Ultimate kauai Guide, they list two separate places, Blue Hole, which appears to be like a cave, and Queen's Bath - a lava pool seaside.

Thanks so much. I'm on my way to purchase Ultimate Kauai.

The Ultimate Kauai Guide has detailed instructions on how to get to the Blue Hole which is waaaaaay up above Wailua on the east side of Kauai. It is hard to find. Heck, I live a few miles away from the Blue Hole and have never been there! ALOHA KAUAI TOURS offers a guided tour every day in the 4X4 van, some hiking required, maybe 3-4 miles.

Queens Bath is in the Princeville area off Punahele Rd. LAst week 2 tourists drowned there, it is a very dangerous spot. Last year the County of Kauai closed access to Quenns Bath and, amid controvery, reopened the access. Now with the tragic drownings last week I am sure it will be shut down again. Yes, it is a beauiful spot but the unexpected rogue waves can be treacherous.

Wow, I went to the Queen's Bath about 3 years ago. Yes, the hiking around the ocean was quite treacherous. In addition, the tourists dying . . . then I definitely would not take the risks to see the beauty. That is too bad. Good luck with your trip. I haven't heard of the "Blue Hole," but all of Kauai is amazing.

In addition, when going to Kauai, go to Jojo's Shave Ice!
