Blue Hawaiian Hellicopter Tours
We want to take a Heli tour on the Bigh Island. Should we book it prior to arriving on the Big Island or through a company on the streets either on the Bigh Island or Oahu.
|
Not sure understand the Q. I have never flown with them - but they seem like a good company. Why would you wait?
|
I heard it is less expensive if you book it on the street, just trying to explore all the options.
|
You can get a discount online with Blue Hawaiian. I don't think they offers "on the street"deals.
|
We took the tour and it was WONDERFUL. We booked through the concierge of the hotel but I'd just book directly via phone or internet. Enjoy! It was great flying over the coast, waterfalls and lava. Amazing!
|
I double checked for you and they do have senior pilots with lots of hours and also a good safety record and new equipment.
Have fun. |
I'd book online, to be sure of getting your dates and the (small) discount they offer.
They are probably the largest and best known company on the BI, and they offer flights out of Waikoloa (although the options out of that 'port are fewer) in addition to Hilo. That could make it more cost effective. |
p.s. If you're looking for a safety record, here it is: http://www.aloha-hawaii.com/things-t...opter/crashes/
But Blue Hawaiian probably does far more flights. |
I would suggest Blue Hawaiian or Paradise on the Big Island. The flights from Waikoloa on the BI are longer (2hrs) but also more expensive. The doors off helicopter from Hilo with Paradise is a once in a lifetime experience!! You can feel the heat from the volcano. I work in the tour and activity industry in Hawaii so get to do all these things for free :) email me jrankin (at) expedia.com if you have further questions or would pics or video from my flight

Thanks everyone for your replies. We booked with Blue Hawaiian and are very excited. Aloha!
