Would this be a good place to take 18 yr. olds?? Heard the food is good. Thanks!!

Totally depends on the 18-year old. Are they used to nice restaurants? Do they like seafood? Will they appreciate the "cool, chic" atmosphere?

Do they like to eat? You may need to take them out for a hamburger afterwards if they're still hungry after the mini portions. (And trust, me I rarely complain about small portions!)

I wholeheartedly agree with Patrick. I left that restaurant hungry too. And it didn't come cheap. Ridiculously small portions. Some restaurants serve on huge plates, which makes a portion seem smaller than it is, and I am very conscious of that. This restaurant,however, is absolutely insulting with their stinginess. Take the 18 year olds to Virgils - 3 blocks away on W. 44th and let them chow down on barbeque ribs. Casual and fun.

I have to disagree... we went to Blue Fin for Sunday brunch recently. I had the lobster benedict and couldn't finish it. Didn't even touch the egg part (figured I could eat eggs anytime), and was very full. My husband got the caramelized apple & walnut waffles. He finished all of it, but left full and he is a big guy.
Our plates were $15 & $11 respectively and coctails, coffee, tea were free. I was very surprised after reviews.

mommy, that's a little disingenuous, isn't it? Brunch is an especially high-margin weekend meal for high-end restaurants: Costly ingredients are used in small quantities, and the cheap stuff like eggs, pancake mix, hollandaise sauce, english muffins etc. are loaded up. I dare say you'd find much smaller portions at dinner.

You will definitely have to take an 18-yr out to Mickey D's afterward as the
dinner portions are miniscule.
