Block Island Accomodations
 

I am planning a long weekend getaway to Block Island. Any suggestions on quaint B&B's or hotels in the area? Or "must see's" while I'm there. <BR> <BR>Many thanks!

Hotel Manisses and 1661 Inn is our favorite place if we aren't renting a house for the week. Hotel is old Victorian and the 1661 Inn is a nice quiet inn with great views and excellent accommodation (alot of the rooms have private decks) Not much to do on Block other than relax, maybe bike ride, etc. I go there for the sailing (race week, etc.) so my wife usually brings a few books and sits on the beach or porch and takes it easy.

Dear Dee: <BR>Perhaps you would like to consider either the National Hotel or the Harborside Inn. Both offer friendly staff members and pleasant accomodations. Tell them Kristy from Maxwell's suggested you try them when making reservations and I'm sure they will take good care of you! <BR> <BR>Block Island is a naturally relaxing but not a fast paced, thrill a minute kind of place. Weekends are the busy peak times, so you may be sharing the island with a few more tourists. Enjoy!

Thanks for the great suggestions...especially since I want to do this in two weeks, I'll check all for avails.

Anyone know about the Blue dory Inn? We're booked for 2 nights with our dog. Any other places we should check out? thanks
