Blackstone Hotel Chicago
 

A warning for anyone who has reservations at the Blackstone Hotel. It was announced in the paper this morning that it closed its doors on Thursday after city inspectors warned that the structure had serious safety problems. The hotel will be closed indefinitely.

Any mention of what will happen to the Shear Madness performances scheduled at the Mayfair Theatre in the Blackstone Hotel? We have reservations for 12/11. <BR>Diane

I just called the box office and the guy who answered said that they were still running the show even though the hotel is closed. The box office number is (312)786-9120 if you want to check when it gets closer

I stayed at the Congress, and walked down there hoping to walk through the lobby (it is a historic building). This person is right...it is completely shut down, even the bar.

I can't confirm this, but a CTA bus driver told me on Saturday that they are renovating the Blackstone Hotel.
