Bisbee or Tubac?
We'll be in southern Arizona at the end of March and definitely plan to stay over a night or two in Bisbee. If we love to browse shops - but have no particular interest in SOUTHWESTERN art and jewelry - we're wondering if a side trip to Tubac wouid be worthwhile. We will have already been in Jerome, Sedona and Scottsdale.

I lived in Bisbee & of all the towns one can visit in SE AZ I think it's kind of a perfect combination of a "real town" with shops, galleries & restaurants supported by locals & fun for visitors, too, an interesting, living, historic place. Tubac is fun for a quick stop but Bisbee has enough going on that you might want to stay a night or two or more. I went for a visit, returned & stayed for 25 years.

I think you would find Tubac small and uninspring...
cute little town, but little...
Nearby Madera Canyon as mentioned above is great for birding & hiking
Nearby Tubac are several intersting sights if you happen to be in the are with time to spare.
Canoa Ranch
Copper mine tours
Trident missle museum
and closer to Tucson, the San Xavier del Bac Mission

Tubac is an art centered town and many famous artists have lived there through the years. I think what you mean by “southwestern art” is called western art in Arizona. Native American art is another category.
Bisbee has artsy shops and a mine tour. You could easily add Tombstone to your itinerary. It has become rather touristy though with teinactmrnts of the Gunfight at the OK Corral. Personally, I prefer Tubac.
Head north to Tucson to visit Misdion San Xavier del Bac, beautifully restored.
