Biking and taxi's from Honokowai (north of Ka'anapali) to Lahaina?
We will be staying at Maui Kai in Honokowai and are wondering how easy it is to get to Lahaina via bike. Is there a safe sidewalk or trail? Or are bikes allowed on the road?
Secondly, are there many taxi's? For the nights we plan on enjoying the cocktails of the island, are taxi's easy to get from these two areas? Any ideas on price?
Thanks in advance!

JennaJ, I am not aware of any bike trails between the two destinations. And frankly I wouldn't want to be riding a bike on the busy rode at night in the dark after having a few cocktails. Not a good situation.
There are cabs in the area but I don't know how easy they are to book. I think there is a shuttle service to Whalers Village that stops near the MauiKai and there are many restuarants to enjoy at that location. The office at the MauiKai should be able to give you more info on the time/cost of the shuttle.

There is a bike lane along Honoapi`ilani Hwy that runs from Kapalua to Ma`alaea. But if you are planning on ombibing, perhaps the taxi option is better. When we go out and I know I am going to drink, we opt for a cab. There are many taxi cab companies; ask your server or the bartender to call one for you.
