Bike The Sites - Washington DC

Has anyone here done the tour with Bike The Sites? I liked the bike tours I've done in other cities (Paris, London, Chicago), but this one seems a bit pricey at $40.

Doesn't surprise me..things aren't exactly cheap in this town.

So what did they cost in London? Doesn't seem that surprising to me, $40 for a three hour tour that includes the bike and helmet rental. Just renting a bike alone will cost $5-10 an hour (and probably only $5 in outer areas or suburbs, not downtown DC). So that could be about $30 out of the $40 already, and then you are getting a tourguide.

London was about $23 in 2004.

Paris was about $24 in 2003, including wine and a cruise on the Seine. Total about 4.5 hours, and the highlight of my trip.

With the weak dollar, both would be more expensive now.

Actually, I'm more surprised that th European tours cost so little, but as mentioned that is no longer true with the current exchange rate.

$40 isn't shocking to me at all. If you count in the $2 bottle of water and the $5 snack, it is costing you only $33 dollars.

It sounds like a lot of fun and I'd do it!
