bike parking - Jackson Park Chicago (near MSI), + CAF Columbian Expo Tour

I'm interested in doing the CAF "Columbian Expo Revisited" walking tour which begins in Jackson Park at the Clarence Darrow Bridge. If we wanted to ride bikes there along the lakefront trail, where would we be able to lock up the bikes during the tour?

Also, if anyone has taken the tour and has any comments on it, I'd love to hear them.

Thanks!

This is right behind the Museum of Science and Industry. You might call the Museum and ask if they have a bike rack.

I'll give them a call, but if anyone knows of anyplace specific with bike parking (that may not be associated with the museum) or can comment on the tour, I'd still be interested in hearing it.

Thanks.

jlm, I used to give tours for the CAF and have had people bring their bikes along. I don't think it would be much of a problem on that tour, but if you don't like the idea, consider using the facilities at MSI. The last thing I would do is use an unattended bike rack in Jackson Park.

My last suggestion is to e-mail the CAF and see if you can get in touch with the docent leading the tour for that day, or the tour director for that tour. He or she would have the best information for you.

Here's an article on bicycling in Hyde Park. You might contact some of the people mentioned in the article with this question:

Thanks for all the help. I had no idea it would be so complicated! But I'll look into the suggestions and decide from there.
