Big Sur area lodging

Greetings fellow-Fodorites!

Trying to make September plans. Will be staying at Post Ranch Inn for one night, Sunday. Would like to explore a different location for Friday/Saturday; inland perhaps? Lodging suggestions appreciated; thank you.

I would recommend the Carmel/Monterey area or San Simeon.

Spend both nights at Post Ranch Inn!

thank you, montereybob and iamq. Have already been to Carmel/Monterey and San Simeon, although i suppose could visit again. would prefer to check out a different locale. how far is Treebones Resort from Post Ranch? Am using a gift certificate at the Post Ranch, can only afford the 1 night!

Thank you.

Don't know much about Treebones. Is that the place with the yurts? If so, it got written up in Sunset Magazine some time ago, but don't remember much about it except it looked like some of the yurts (if this is in fact the place I am thinking of) had spectacular distant ocean views.

How about Carmel Valley? Technically it qualifies as "inland". Lots of nice places to stay and eat.

Another possible is a place called Costanoa near Pescadero north of Santa Cruz and south of Half Moon Bay. Very "eco" style place with tent cabins with all the trimmings. It is located up in the lower Santa Cruz Mountains on the ocean side. Never been there, but it is very popular around where I live as it is close and nice for a weekend getaway.

Nope. I have no idea where it is.

Treebones is on the southern end of Big Sur - south of Lucia, closer to Rocky Point.
