Big Island question--how many nights to spend at VNP?
I need your help with an important decision.
We had originally planned 5 nights on the BI, and we have booked a condo near Kona for that time. But as luck would have it, we will now have 2 additional days on the BI. I am thinking of adding one night to our stay at the condo in Kona, then spending our last night at VNP. Our flight home leaves around 9:30pm, so that gives us time to take the northerly route from VNP and see the waterfalls on the drive back to Kona before flying home.
My question is this: Is one night at VNP enough, or should we stick with 5 nights in Kona and plan 2 nights at VNP?
Mahalo.

Well, we decided on 2 nights near the Volcano for our October trip. We have 3 nights in a B&B near Kona, 2 nights near Volcano, and then 5 nights at Fairmont Orchid above Kona. It sounded like the right amount of time at each place. That gives us a whole day and evening and next day at the volcano.

We did 7 nights at the Hilton (slipping away mid-week for 1 night at Volcano) and 4 nights at the Four Seasons.
I liked having more time on the "sunny" coast and 1 night was fine for us at Volcano.
But, it is Hawaii - how can you go wrong!?!?!?!
