OH for sure, my sistah! Will send her the addy in the am!
Met the OSB last year at the Atlanta GTG and she is definitely nutso like the rest of you K9's!!!!!!!!! Sistah, you sure did fit in this place in a hurry. How did you get so smart so fast???? I hate Kauai, but if she is determined to go to the HH, then so be it from me to try and stop her!!!!! OSB.......you will luv it girlfriend! i'2((r)) |
I'm a quick study!
|
Oh NO!!! This NO APOSTROPHE thingy is happening again tonight!...If I hit an apostrophe, the whole reply gets kicked off....quite irritating after 4 paragraphs of attempted wit!!!! Wiped out!! Gone!!! ....Oh, but let us see how Notepad works out!
I was going to say, Please dear sistah, do not joke about the flights being full up, as I do not have mine as yet! And I just learned this AM that my long awaited stay at the Orchid Tree B&B in Hilo (BI) will not happen as they are ALREADY booked up the entire month of May '07....can that BE??? I thought I was the early bird! ( Boy do I feel like I am speaking the Kings English or something with the no contractions rule---hard on the OSB!) Then, the thing with the Alaska pipeline...what is that going to do to the prices?! And I am trying to conserve funds. I actually planned this trip for last year... about the time all the K9 group went crazy. The DH made me abort in favor of Maui and Oahu (he had a meeting in Oahu). They were very nice, but my desire to see the HH has not dimmed! So, the way I see it, I have planned this trip for going on 3 years now, and am not to be deterred! Thanks for the tip on Polihale, will see what all I can fit in for such a short stay....Kal said I needed to just stay at the Sand Bar all 5 days, isn't that what you said, Kal????;) |
Belle,
Five days is not too short a time on that dreaded place. You'll want to leave after a day or two. The road past the Kalalau lookout at Waimea Canyon is sometimes locked off. Walk up to the last viewpoint if you have to, the view from there is spectacu..oops I mean dreadful. You can call me Bill, by the way. Just don't call me billyboy. I'2 gets pissed off when other people call me that. Something about me being her boyfriend or something. -Bill |
okee dokee billyboy!!! Looking forward to coming to the aid of a southern belle....
|
Uh Oh! the chicken paws are gonna fly now!!
|
Dadblamed right they are gonna fly, OSB! The newbie wannabe K9, sistah, wants to move in fast doesn't she?
Hey billyboy, and this is a serious question. When that road is blocked off, does that mean don't even walk up to the next lookout? We have been all the way up, but last year the gate was over the road and we did not go any farther. OSB, one place you can save money on is the helicopter tour. I say definitely take InterIsland with the no doors, but forget the waterfall landing. There are so many waterfalls on Kauai that you can drive and see and that you can hike and see that you really don't have to spend that extra money. Plus, they give you a deli sandwich and cookie and fruit. It was good, but since there are so many crappy places on Kauai to eat, I would just waste my money at one of those places. Also, if you decide to do a NaPali Boat tour, the last couple of years Holoholo Charters has had a coupon for 25% off in the Entertainment Book. That's a significant savings if you ask me! And, absolutely, get you a sodium fix by slurpping some saimen at Hamarua's. More later, keep on asking questions. i'2((r)) |
I'2,
We've walked up the road. Well worth it don't ya think? Waimea Canyon is surely on my list for next time as we have not be there since our first visit 4 years ago! -Bill |
Yes, it is definitely worth the visit..but, what I was asking is...when you walked up there was the gate down over the road?
|
Yes.
|
Iceeu2: Yes, Sistah is one of the 'fast girls', no doubt!;)
Have you actually done the Napilli tour with H? I had another one bookmarked, can't recall but will look it up. Sistah: I got your email addy from iceeu2 - gotta run errands this AM but will send you a note later today (when I feel like gett'in into trouble lol!. Thanks! |
Yes, we used Holoholo for their sunset cruise...actually, you are back in when the sun sets, but it was a great boat tour along the NaPali. I recall that Budman used them last year as well.
We had planned to do their snorkel excursion, but the real icee had to have a place lanced on his back and couldn't get in the water!! Oh, yes, we spent precious vacation time at The Kauai Medical Clinic. I really don't think you can go wrong with whichever outfitter you decide to use. We did an ATV tour one year that was alot of fun. Don't remember which one we used, but I don't think there are many to choose from. |
Hi OSB!
What a fun trip you're going to have with your son! I was on Kauai this summer for 5 weeks and will top my TR for you. On gardens, in addition to Bill's recommendation, the Na Aina Kai Botanical Garden near Kilauea is worth a stop. We took a 3 hour stroll and ride tour there and enjoyed it. On a cruise, we used and recommend Kauai Sea Tours www.kauiaseatours.com Had a great time! On the Waimea Canyon lookout at the very top, the last mile or so was closed off due to deteriorating road but you can hike it. Beautiful view from the top! We didn't do the helicopter tour this time (because we had done it 20 years ago) but I regret that! It is a wonderful way to see the island! What fun you're going to have in that HH! |
What is this continually repetitive nonsense about great ice cream and shaved ice on Kauai, or the Islands in general? Puhleeeeze! It is the most over rated, over sweatened, concoction around ...$4 bucks for a single scoop? Hah! Lappert's my patoot. For that price, I'd rather have dinner in Sacremento (including tip).
Whatever you do, stay away from the Praeline's & Cream. Stick with Dairy Queen, boycott Kauai, and shop American. |
DB....no one wants to put up with your cranky old butt anyway.
Why did you have to post here and ruin this thread...and, guess what? Last I heard...Hawaii was America. Plus, maybe you didn't like it because you asked for shavED ice instead of shave ice......there is a huge difference. |
DB...forgive me...I had you confused with A N Other.
|
Is DB a troll? I mean, come on DB, you say "shop American" regarding buying ice cream in Hawaii?? Last time I checked Hawaii was a ratified state of the United States of America. Aren't you just trying to create a ruckus?!
My opinion only, but I think if we want to save this thread, we ALL need to IGNORE this poster and the nasty comments. |
daydreamin: I've been scouting the threads for quite awhile, and I think I remember your TR 'cuz I remember being SO jealous of you----come on now, 5 WEEKS! You are surely blessed!!
Top it anyway please, just in case! |
OSB,
Can I top mine too? [-o< -Bill |
OSB - yes, 5 weeks was pretty darn wonderful!! 8-)
I topped my TR earlier this p.m. for you and topped it again just now....just in case you didn't see it earlier. If you want to check out the Na Pali cruise we took and the link in my TR doesn't work, just google "Kauai Sea Tours" --- I tried to paste the link but it keeps appearing here incorrectly. Bill...yes!! Top your TR...I could use the HH "fix" about now! ((R)) |
