Big Island-How to get a glimpse of Hi'ilawe Falls without hiking on private property?

Hello, Happy new year to everyone.

Is there any way to get a glimpse of Hi'ilawe Fall without hiking? After reading most of the posts here, it seems like the hike to base of the falls requires walking through private property. We would prefer not to trespass. Also, it seems like the hike requires crossing streams which we surely are not prepared to risk.

Is there any way to get a glimpse of the falls without hiking? Even from far? I see lot of pictures on Tripadvisor page of Hi'ilawe Falls where it looks like people are walking on what seemed to be an unpaved road with a far away view of Hi'ilawe Falls. Can this view be reached by 4x4 or hike without trespassing? Here is the link to couple of those pictures:

Is the road down to Waipio Valley a public road to hike/drive on? Can the falls be seen anywhere from this road? We are renting a 4x4 on Turo that does not have restrictions about driving on unpaved roads.

Also, when I look at some of the publicly posted photos of google maps, there seems to be a Hi'ilawe Falls lookout on the valley rim which has its access on Mud Road. Is this a public road or can this is accessed only via tours? This is the image on google maps:

Thanks.

Almost all rental cars prohibit driving down into Waipio Valley so people either hike down (a very steep hike and not for inexperienced hikers) or take a tour via shuttle, horseback, wagon, etc.

I specified in my post that we have a rental car from Turo without any restrictions. We are not prohibited driving down to Waipio Valley.

Good luck with that, I would not touch Turo with ten foot pole, hopefully you have the person you are renting from provide proof of full insurance coverage. And yes, I did read your post about renting from Turo.
I checked several websites for Waipio Valley and they all say you cannot hike to the falls without crossing private property and suggest asking for permission from the landowner.
