Oh my god do you mean it's finished? And what was the final pricetag, just how many billions did it go over bugdet?

Was in Boston a few monnths ago and the whole area was still a mess. Getting to the tunnels traffic was backed up as usual. (Originally from Winthrop, bringing new hubby to see hometown).

Any more info?

Thanks.

It's not finished, but the northbound half, including the beautiful new bridge, is mostly opened. Big ceremonies and lots of confused drivers last weekend.

What about all the construction around the Callahan Tunnel, is that gone or going to be gone? Seems like it has all been there since I was a kid and that was a LONG time ago. lol.

I had the thrill of walking on the new bridge last Mother's Day. Once in a lifetime chance as far as I can tell. So I was pleased that by chance I was able to drive through the tunnel and over the bridge on its first day of operation. All I can say is "How did they do that?" It was amazing to be driving under Boston - way under. Under subway station, rail station, Fort Point Channel, lots of buildings.

But I have to admit I am going to miss seeing Boston from the Expressway. The glimpses of the harbor, the Children's Museum (hey there's Arthur up on the roof!), Quincy Market, The Customs House, the Aquarium, and the Rice Exchange (love that building - hope I got the name right) with its big red bow at Christmas, the North End.

Okay - now that you mention it- I hate that tunnel - what ever its name is.
