Bidding for a hotel on priceline
I am thinking about bidding for a hotel room on Priceline for the weekend of Thanksgiving in New Orleans. I know it is a VERY busy weekend in New Orleans with the football game. Is it to early to bid on a room?
|
No, it isn't too early to bid on a room but for the maximum benefits for your money go to: www.biddingfortravel.com. www.betterbidding.com is also a good site. |
I'd definitely start bidding now while you've still got time for a zillion rebids.

I'm in the camp that would never use Priceline for a hotel in New Orleans. There may be deals to be had, but you probably won't end up in a hotel with any sort of New Orleans ambiance.
I just did a quick search and there are rooms available at the Dauphine Orleans for an average nightly rate of $110.00 for that weekend. That's a bargain. I'd grab it in a heartbeat. Nice hotel, great location. |
Thanks for all of the info. The price for the Dauphine sounds good. Where did you find that price at?
|
I love Priceline but agree none of the PL hotels have the New Orleans ambience, especially in the French Quarter, my favorite area. There are plenty of smaller hotels to check pricing from first. Also you may want to try pricing through easyclicktravel.com, sometimes they have negotiated hotel rates in cities. According to biddingfortravel.com you may be able to get a decent rate at the Fairmont through Easyclick should you decide to go a little more upscale.
