BI Volcano Lodgings
I need help picking out a good/cheap place for 4 to stay one night up by the volcano on the BI. A lot of the places that people have suggested here require 2 nights.
Also, my dad is a very tall man who needs a king size bed. My husband and I can make do with whatever. We don't want to spend more than $200 for all of us since we're already spending tons on this trip anyway. Thanks for any help you can give me. You always pull through for me. |
You're right that most of the B&B's require a two night stay. Kilauea Lodge would be the logical choice but would cost more like $300. for two bedrooms. (That's what I would do.) Hilo would have some more choices in your price range - about thirty minutes north of Volcano. If you would be interested in that, I'll get out my sources and look into that for you. It seems like the Dolphin Bay Hotel might be a possibility...

Country Goose B&B (www.countrygoose.com) allows one night stays. (That's what we did, and we had a hard time finding somewhere that allowed them.) The only difficulty might be the king size bed.

Thanks crazy but we want to stay closer to the volcano.

Thanks christie! I sent an email to them and I am waiting for a reply. So you liked staying there? Was it far from the Volcano Park? How was the breakfast? Thanks!!
|
Our breakfast was french toast with fresh fruit, and freshly-squeezed local fruit juices. Mmmmm! Joan is a very good hostess.
It was about 10 minutes to the front gate of VNP. |
In case Country Goose can't accomodate your request for a king bed, try this web page:
http://www.volcanogallery.com/lodging/ It gives a list of B&B's with king beds. |
thanks for the responses! I heard back from Joan and we may be going with her, but I'm going to check out fde's suggestion!

We are going with Country Goose and getting one of the rental homes, which comes with breakfast as well. Thanks for all the help! I can't wait to go!!
