Beware Rogers Ark Fairfield Inn!
 

I had to check out of the Fairfield Inn in Rogers at midnight on Monday night due to road construction noise that made it impossible to sleep! When I complained to the management I was told that they have had unhappy customers for weeks, but they still continue to book!!

Well, it's unfotunate that there isconstrucion going on - but the hotel isn;t rebuilding a road. Short of closing down -I''m not sure what they could do.

Did you ask for a room on the other side from the noise? Ear plugs? Turn the AC up?

Haven't we all had an unpleasant stay at a hotel, when the situation really wasn't the hotel fault. It always amazes me when people complain because the hotel is refurbishing. Like it is some crime to not have carpet in the hallways for a couple of weeks.

a) Road construction is hardly the fault of the hotel. Why blame them for a temporary issue beyond their control?

b) If the hotel does not continue to book customers for their (completely usable) rooms, they cannot pay their employees or the bills. Business owners can rarely afford to just not keep up the business for weeks or months. Put yourself in their shoes.

It would be nice if they would provide ear plugs for those guests who wanted them.

The hotel is renting rooms for people to SLEEP in. It was impossible to sleep, at least on the side of the hotel closest to the construction. I had the air up on high, took a sleeping pill and buried my head under pillows, still NO sleep. When I requested a move to the other side of the hotel I was told that those rooms were all full from others who had already requested a move due to noise. I think the hotel should not book the rooms that they know people will not be able to SLEEP in. We are talking FAIRFIELD INN BY MARRIOT, they can afford it.

The road construction was not apparent when you checked in?

tdelano, I kind of agree with you and I usually don't sympathize much with these rant posts :) .

Would have been fitting had the motel warned guests that the construction noise was bad and they should have offered reduced rates for the rooms on the noisy side. Especially since <b>"I was told that they have had unhappy customers for weeks, but they still continue to book"</b>.

That's why I always travel with ear plugs, road contruction or not.
