There are Scarlett O'Hara snow globes????
I might be missing something but as long as everyone knows that liquids are not allowed on board, snow globe owners ( especially the really smart ones who bought Scarlett O'Hara snow globes) can wrap them in bubble wrap and take them in luggage. If we were able to bring 4 bottles of wine from Argentina, a snow globe is a piece of cake.. :) |
I have never had a snow globe since I purchased one from a department store. Brought it home, laid the box on the table, opened the box, removed the snow globe and it exploded in my hands. I kid you not! I had tiny pieces of glass in my hair, on my clothes, all over the dining room. And it is a wonder I didn't have a heart attack. I contacted the departmet store manager and he asked me to "return the snow globe". Hello?? What part of the conversation did he not understand, lol.
The store and the manufacture were so lucky I didn't have injuries. I am not one to ever sue but.... Oh yes, they credited my credit card for the cost of the snow globe. Ever since than I stay far far away from them lol. |
Saks Fifth Avenue Department Store in NYC has little Saks snowglobes on all of the tables in their restaurant. I love them :)

I think it's quite amusing that some posters think that "touristy" stores should start warning customers about what they can and cannot carry on a plane! That's ridiculous! It is not their job to pack our suitcases nor to know our transportation situations to and from their cities!

How and why does a person newly register in order to respond to a post from 8 years ago?

gail--Perhaps the topic is of interest to them. I know I learned something from reading this thread.

Actually to advertise a website . . . |
I wonder if Fodor's has ever considered a "This discussion is too old and cannot be responded to" option. I've seen it just about everywhere except here.
