Beverly Hills with kids
I will be in Beverly Hills for a week with my two kids (9 and 6). Anything interesting or fun to do there? Hopefully something that won't be too expensive. I will have a car so I can travel, but don't want to go very far. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

Zuma Beach, the Santa Monica Pier and carousel, and a good swimming pool. There's not a whole lot to do with little ones in BH--about the same as you would do at home. Are you going to take them to Universal Studios? Not too far.

You have to take them to Disneyland. About an hour drive but they will never forgive you if you miss it. The IMAX theater and science center in Downtown LA is a great place to take kids. Very educational but fun as well.

You could take them up to the Griffith observatory at night to see the view of the entire city. The Hollywood sign is visible from there also. Anyone in BH can tell you how to get there. It's a short drive. I agree with Disney, you do have to take them there for a day.

I live close to Beverly Hills, and worked for the City of BH on several occasions. It may sound funny but visit the library! There are frequent kid friendly events scheduled. You can rent videos or music cd's and view/listen to them on the premesis. Check out Roxybury Park (Olympic Blvd & Rexford I believe) Visit the museum of TV and Radio. You can check out any Radio or Tv Program from their vast collection. This can be followed by a delicious malt at Johnny Rockets Burger Joint (50's style diner) across the street. Don't miss the farmer's market every Sunday on Canon Street. I can go on and on because there is lots to do in BH!

Unlike previous suggestions, everything I mentioned is in BH!
