Beverly Hills Restaurants

Hi,
Can anyone suggest a few Beverly Hills restaurants. Which ones are a "must," we like all kinds of cuisine.

Gotta do Spago. Really one of the best meals we've ever had and they treated us like royalty (and we're 'no one.' :-)

Tess is right. Spago is a wonderful experience.
The Stinking Rose--specializes in all kinds of garlic dishes--is very good, not sure if it would fall into a "must" category...
Trader Vic's lounge is great fun for fancy drinks, don't think I would eat there.
The smallish hotel on Rodeo, right in the thick of things, has a great lunch menu and the outdoor tables provide a quintessential BH experience...

If you happen to be there on a Fri or Sat you're in luck...combine a trip to the beautiful Getty Museum with a meal in their lovely restaurant. Great wine list too!

One more thing about Spago--when you make reservations, ask to be seated on the garden patio--it's evidently where those in the know sit :-)

Thank you for your suggestions. I think the patio at Spago would be fun!

Spago is a must, sure. Matsuhisa is another great place. Lucques in nearby West Hollywood should be on your list as well. Lawry's for old-school prime rib. L'Orangérie is maybe off its heights (the 80s), but it's still quite good. Asia de Cuba on Sunset is cool for the Scene, and the food's pretty good too.

Skip Stinking Rose. It's a mini-chain, and not that great to be honest.

Hmmm, thanks for the info--for those of us on the opposite coast, the chain aspect of that restaurant was unknown!! I liked it well enough, but our son loves it, which is why I mentioned it. The decor is kind of "kitshcy" (sp?) and that was part of its appeal to me....

Thanks again for the ideas. I'll check them out.
