Beverly Hills hotels
I want to take my 13 year old daughter to LA for a few days. I need a recommendation for a hotel in the Beverly Hills area. Is there a moderate one? I don't want anything fancy.

Residence Inn might suit you.
|
There's also a Courtyard by Marriott, Best Western & other 'moderate' chains with area hotels.
http://www.resideo.com/us/california/beverlyhills Your best bet is to do a city-wide quote and sort the results by price to see what's available in your price range. Good luck, and have fun! |
Are you going to rent a car for the few days or do you need something near bus stops & restaurants & shops etc.
|
I will have a car.
|
I would like a recommendation for a hotel within walking distance to Rodeo Drive.
|
Luxe Hotel Rodeo Drive is about it in a moderate price range. Try HilgardHouse.com near UCLA, about 5 min drive. You could hop the bus if you didn't want to drive and park near Rodeo. Hilgard House is in a nice safe neighborhood. No pool though.
|
if you have a car, you really don't need to be walking to Rodeo drive. everyone drives in LA. it would be far more interesting for your daughter to say in Santa Monica in my opinion.

I have stayed twice at The Tower at Beverwil and Pico. It is at the edge of Beverly Hills and is a very pleasant 10 min. walk to the main Rodeo Drive shopping. The neighbourhood is residential on the side of the building facing the Hollywood Hills. The other side faces busy Pico. We have always stayed on the Hollywood Hills view side and had an upper floor. The rooms are very pleasant and have nice balconies.
There are restaurants and coffee bars along the walk in to Rodeo Dr. |
For something moderate Julie, consider the little Hilgard House near UCLA. Lots of shops & restaurants around that you can walk to, safe neighborhood with students everywhere, nice vibe.....just a 10 minute drive to Santa Monica and 5 min drive to Rodeo Drive in the other direction. Better yet you can hop a quick bus ride to either place and not worry about parking......or a quick bus ride to the Getty Center which is a must-visit place whether you are an art lover or not. Take your daughter to dinner here on a Fri or Sat night at sunset for a memorable mother-daughter evening. Make reservations.

julie:
No matter what you decide...don't fret about parking your rental car in Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Westwood....numerous public parking garages at very reasonable rates. We live in Beverly Hills "adjacent" (meaning we are closeby, up in the hills, and we never have a parking problem..the BH public garages are usually two hours free and they're on several north/south streets (Cannon, Rodeo, Beverly Drive, etc). In Santa Monica, the public garages are on 2nd street. Have fun...we are proud of greater Los Angeles! Come visit..but please don't move here. Stu T. |
Residence Inn is one mile from the heart of Beverly Hills shopping. And most of the way it is a pleasant walk on Beverly Drive (for shops and restaurants) or through residential streets.
