between tombstone and san diego
 

my family (mom, dad, 2 daughters 22,20) is taking a road trip from las vegas to the grand canyon to flagstaff, phoenix, tombstone, sandiego and la... can anyone suggest places to stop particularly a place to spend the night between tombstone and san diego? thanks :0) joanna

If you don't want to drive it in one day which is quite doable, then the only place to overnight is in Yuma. There are several hotels and motels there to choose from.

I did this trip in one day a few years ago...I-8 east to I-10 east to 80...it takes about 7 1/2 hours depending on how much you stop, etc...I think it's about 470 miles...kkj is correct about Yuma...there are chain motels and restaurants...that's where I stopped for break and then continued on.

Not really, the tough part is staying awake!
