Best Wisconsin Camping Spots

We would like to take our kids tent camping in Wisconsin this summer, and would like to know of any great spots. Would also appreciate cabin rentals, if you have a great one in mind.
We just sold some land that we have been camping at for the past 7 years, because we tended to go there too much, instead of seeing more of Wisconsin.

We travel outside the state/country once a year as well, but we are looking for some nice long weekend trips that are driving distance.
Your advice is appreciated!!

Minocqua and Hayward are both good for camping and cabin rentals. Where will you be driving from?

Lots of great places to suggest but need to know a little more, how far in to Wisconsin do you want to go? It's a big state:) What are your travel times?

Can't beat the campgrounds at Wyalusing, Wildcat Mountain, and Copper Falls State Parks. There are also a number of campgrounds in the National Forests of northern Wis. Also some nice camping in the Kettle Moraine State Forest (I prefered the northern unit to the southern one).

Thank you for your suggestions. I had forgotten about Devils Lake!
We will be driving from Appleton, and don't want to drive more than 4 hours there. I believe Minocqua is where I taught a class once for 2 days, and I told my husband we had to bring the kids there for camping because it was so beautiful!
Thank you -- keep the ideas coming. We do like some privacy, not the "kitschy" campgrounds with programs and campsites on top of each other with no trees.
