Best Western Monterey Beach?

Any input on this hotel would be greatly appreciated, am still in time to change/cancel, have not been able to get a good rate for a "decent" hotel in this area, I do have a car so the distance is not an issue. Thank you
Gina

The BEST thing about this hotel is its view---and that about it !!!
rooms are small & overpriced--but they are o.k. if (in your opinion) the view makes up .
It is right ON THE BEACH..
Food is good and room service was prompt..
I would stay there again UNLESS I wanted more value in amenities and decor.
You do need a car as it is on the outskirts of Monterey..

This must be the hotel that was at one time a Holiday Inn. We booked there in order to be on the beach, walked in, looked at the room, and walked right out again--ended up staying in Carmel.

We've stayed here many times, more when all the kids were young. It's a great place for families. The rooms are ordinary, but if you book an oceanview room, the views are great. :)
The stretch of beach there is very nice for walking on and there is a small heated pool and jacuzzi. It's about a five minute drive to Monterey from the property.
If you want more upscale, go with the Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa. It costs a lot more but is a great place! ***kim*** ((f))

Try Monterey Bay Inn http://www.montereybayinn.com. At end of Cannery row, walking distance to Aquarium and many restaurants. Very nice room with view and decent AAA rates, includes nice continental breakfast brought to your room to enjoy on the balcony. Next door to the Moneterey Plaza kimamom mentions, but much less expensive.
