Best Western in San Francisco

Can anyone provide information about the Best Western Americaina, 7th Street between Market and Mission, in San Francisco? Suite rates seem reasonable, but concerned about location, cleanliness, etc. Area listed as "downtown" but what does that mean? We're taking 2 preteens and younger child in July. Any advice? Thanks!

I have stayed at the BW Americana several times. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it, very nice, also the BW Carriage Inn across the street is owned by the same people, they even serve continental breakfast to your room. The area, is being upgraded, it still lacks some gooq qualities, but you should not have any problems. I am a travel agent, and would not hesitate to put my clients there.

my coworkers stayed at the BW Americania for a trade show last july and it was so bad that they checked out and went somewhere else. The hotel staff was completely incompetent and there were bugs. I would definitely go with another hotel. Try the Andrews Hotel.
