Best Weekend Ever!

Hi,

Myself and Sarah were on this forum prior to our weekend in NY. Well we got back last night and as you can see from the title - it was EXCELLENT. We got there Friday at about 12:00 midday and got a Yellow Taxi to the Grand Hyatt - which had a vast lobby and was very clean and the rooms were very clean also. We went shopping to Bloomingdales, Gucci, Tiffanys etc till the shops closed. Then we went to a restaurant called Johns Pizza which was lovely. It looked really small from the outside - but grew when you went in. We ordered our food and the waitress gave us advise on what to eat and told us we were ordering far too much (Which a restaurant in England would never do!) - all the food was lovely. Then Saturday we got the boat to Ellis Island. We had to que for quite a while to get on the boat - but there were some really good street entertainers along the way - which made things go faster. We went past the statue of Liberty on the boast to Ellis Island. Then stayed on the Island for about an hour and caught the boat back. We then walked to Canal Street - which was excellent. There are sooooo many bag shops and lots of people. In the evening we went to another lovely restaurant called Tavern Jane. This was a small friendly restaurant and the food was lovely. We then went to some bars - ending up in the Wet Bar - near our hotel. But the drinks were really expensive in there. All night though the in all bars the drink measures are really big! Sunday the weather was a bit nasty - so a trip to the Empire State Building wasn't too good as there were too many clouds. But it is worth going to. Then Sunday night we went to a restaurant in Little Italy called Da Nico's - where the food was lovely and the waiters were really friendly. Again they told us were ordering too much food and advised us on what to order. Then Monday we had to come back to raining England and back to work! To save up for our next trip to NY. But it really was the best weekend ever! The people of NY are so friendly.

What a lovely report! I love to hear positive news about our country. You sound like a lovely person too. I hope you visit the USA again and we'll come to England also. Thanks for taking time to post.

That's "Sarah and I," Sally--let's try and use good grammar on the boards, shall we?

Great you had a good weekend. How did you fare on Monday. I have hoped over to London from NYC for a weekend. I think John's is a famous Pizza restaurant. What is the weather like in England right now, rainy and cold?

Would love to pop up to Edinburgh for a long weekend. Next time you must explore some of our museums if that is something you would enjoy. Met is impressive and there is something for everyone. Take home any fun food? I always leave England with a bunch of candy bars.

PS W near Union Square might be a fun place to say can imagine it is more than Grand Hyatt. Just for a switch. Don't blame you for not seeing a show, Theatre is better in London.
