Fastest way is when leaving Airport follow signs for the Garden State Parkway. Go south on the GSP till the end. It's about 39 miles.
Or you could take the more scenic route by going through the shore towns along the coast. Head south through Ventnor, Margate, Longport go over the bridge and keep heading south.

If you mean "using public transportation" - then you want to use the free shuttle from the airport to the Atlantic City Convention Center, where you transfer to New Jersey Transit (NJT) bus for the trip to Cape May. (www.njtransit.com)

When you exit the airport on Amelia Earhardt Boulevard, bear right at the circle and bear right on Delilah Road. You will go over an overpass and there will be a traffic light at the AC Expressway entrance/exit ramp. Make a right onto the expressway entrance. 35 cent toll there. Take the AC Expressway eastbound and get off at the AC Expressway Exit 7S. This will put you on the Garden State Parkway southbound, which will run you right to Cape May. There are several 35 cent tolls while on the parkway.
Enjoy your trip!
